Here’s What You Need
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field required.
Experience
- Highly prefer 2 years’ of Actuarial/Data Analytics, Finance or Health Care Industry experience.
- Prefer experience in Data Management using tools such as SQL.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must pass one or more Actuarial Exam Track upon hire.
Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Basic or higher level of proficiency with SQL.
- Strong mathematical, financial, statistical, and technical skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; written/verbal proficiency.
- Ability to identify problem areas and take initiative to implement solutions.
What You Will Do
Position Responsibilities
As a member of the Medical Economics and Contract Performance team, the Actuarial Analyst will contribute to SWHR's growth and financial stability by providing actuarial and analytical support. This might include but not limited to medical expense analyses and projections, provider incentive modeling/analysis, contract performance forecasting, ad hoc actuarial analyses/advice as needed, and communicate updates/results to management and associates. This role will work closely with the external actuaries to optimize process' and work towards developing internal solutions.
Position Functions
- Apply analytical methods to track the performance of our various contracts with payors and providers.
- Produce ad-hoc financial & statistical analyses, studies or forecasts, as needed.
- Support advanced trend analyses and projections.
- Communicate results of analyses to management and associates.
- Actively participate in team and other internal meetings and may present on specific topics.
- Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
