Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Require 3 years Community Event Marketing and Management experience.
  • Highly prefer Public Relations, Community Program Development, Community Event Coordination & Management experience.
  • Experience with laws and regulations that affect services to elder people preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s License upon hire required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in marketing, event management, business, administration and program development, and non-profit a plus.
  • Experience with laws and regulations that affect services to elder people is preferred.
  • Significant work with elders, social service or health care environments is strongly recommended.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
  • Dynamic and visionary leadership skills, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with a variety of professionals in the community.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce.
  • Must be able to lift materials, carry and set up for events.

Position Responsibilities

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for working with the Community Engagement Manager to develop strategies for engagement with community organizations and act as the support liaison between these organizations and the health plan, which requires 70% of the workload to be out of the office. A primary responsibility will be to coordinate with the Community Engagement Manager to find resources and opportunities for Care N' Care and attend events in the senior communities in which we serve.

Position Functions

  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager to work with local stakeholders such as non-profits, businesses, elected officials, municipalities, and chambers to support the facilitation of community partnerships.
  • Coordinate with the Community Engagement Manager maintain strategic partnerships with community and provider organizations and communicate the health plan vision and goals to support the development of the highest possible community and provider partnerships.
  • Coordinate with the Community Engagement Manager in collaborating with numerous departments and inter-office teams to determine appropriate outreach priorities and opportunities.
  • Support the collaboratively with community partners to promote Care N’ Care in a positive and community-oriented way.
  • Assists with ongoing assessment of the region’s health needs and resources, with particular emphasis on resources for senior wellbeing, empowerment, and independence for safe and vibrant aging.
  • Work with minimal supervision to establish an efficient, organized business office, compliant with regulations; maintain accurate, confidential records; maintain an accurate database of members, member assistance, referral information and service providers.
  • Assure timely response to all member requests for services or assistance, providing direct response when resource help is not available.
  • Assist with procedures, new programs and services as suggested by members and community as feasible.
  • Attend a variety of community events on behalf of Care N’ Care.
