The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

•  High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

•  Bachelor’s Degree Nursing preferred.

•  3 Years’ Experience Coding in an outpatient or inpatient setting required.

•  LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required and

•  CCS - Certified Coding Specialist required Or,

•  CPC - Certified Professional Coder required.

 

Skills

•  Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding guidelines

•  Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

•  Must be proficient in use of Microsoft tools and technology

•  Working knowledge of Medicare risk adjustment and health plan quality measures preferred

•  Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

•  Assertive and excellent communication skills

•  Must be able to frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize and analyze work flow, write, plan, and use simple arithmetic.

•  Must be able to operate general office equipment including but not limited to: computer, phones, and related media and information devices.
