Mail Clerk - Utilization Management - Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR)
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Require 1 year of Mail Center or Mail Room experience.
Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of mailing processes, tools, and systems.
- Utilize knowledge of the following:
Local shipping processes and systems (ex. UPS Campus Ship System).
Relevant computer/software applications (Word, Excel, FileNet, etc.)
Relevant shipping classes (ex. certified mail, types of overnight delivery)
How to access and utilize relevant reference manuals.
Position Responsibilities
The Mail Clerk will prepare incoming mail for distribution and processes outgoing mail. They will also maintain records on postage, register mail and packages, as well as other duties stated below.
Position Functions
- Receive/ Prepare/ Distribute Incoming Mail, Packages, or Communications:
Scan incoming mail and packages into relevant systems.
Collect/Process/Prepare Outgoing Mail and Correspondence (including overnight packages).
Prepare mail merges from submitted spreadsheets to create documents and print addresses on letters.
Weigh mail and attach postage electronically.
Enter mailing method into postage meter to determine postage rate.
Sort outgoing mail according to postage class.
- Sort and/or deliver received mail, packages, or correspondence by recipient’s location, department, or business unit:
Receive and/or send relevant documents to internal partners for scanning into applicable systems.
Maintain Mailing Records, Reports, and Supplies.
Print postage performance reports to document and track postage volume, costs, and allocation to departments.
Troubleshoot equipment issues (ex: clear paper jams, replace toner).
Other duties as assigned.
