Manager Accounting

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
Master's Degree Business Administration preferred

Experience
7 years experience in accounting related work required.
Healthcare experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications
CPA - Certified Public Accountant required upon hire

Knowledge of insurance industry and CMS a plus.
Have in depth knowledge of the Medicare Part D payments reconciliation process. This includes ability to calculate the CMS RISK Share reconciliation and forecast year end results for accrual purposes. Accurately identify and account for the monthly LICS, Coverage Gap Discount Program and Federal Reinsurance expenses. 
Understand the Monthly Plan Payment report from CMS. Be able to properly account for each item (revenue, fees, non-income related, etc) and to tie these amounts to the detail in the Monthly Membership Report, or other detail report, where applicable.
Have experience with the HCC Risk Adjustment payment methodology employed by CMS. This includes an understanding of how member level risk scores are calculated using the appropriate model along with demographic and diagnosis information available through the Model Output Reports (MOR), Risk Adjustment Payment System (RAPS), and MMR files. Understand how the normalization and coding pattern adjustments are applied. Be able to forecast payment adjustments that occur during the mid-year and final payment year cycles.
