Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy Required Or
Other Pharmacy Pharm.D. Required

Experience
5 Years’ Experience as a pharmacist with progressive clinical practice responsibilities in a population health, health system or managed care (such as health plan or PBM) pharmacy setting Required and
3 Years’ Experience as an informatics pharmacist; or in a position similar to that of an informatics pharmacist Required

AND
Advanced degree in Health Informatics and/or completion of an accredited residency training program in informatics or other related field is preferred

Licenses and Certifications
PHAR - Pharmacist Upon Hire Required

AND
Other Board-Certified Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Informatics Upon Hire Preferred

Skills
Must have advanced computer skills and proficient in the use of advance technology programs, such as Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access), Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, etc.
Exceptional analytical skills/critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
Must have program leadership skills and ability to build relationships. Must be a team player who contributes to harmonious and constructive working relationships within a multidisciplinary team & provider network.
Must be a strategic thinker, problem solver, able to multi-task, and resourceful.
Must have excellent communication skills and be proficient in written and verbal communication and use of English language.
Must have knowledge of electronic medical record systems; experience with EPIC highly preferred.

 

The Pharmacy Informatics Program Manager is responsible for the measurement, ongoing quality improvement and effectiveness of assigned pharmacy programs. Work collaboratively with other departments such as UM, Care Management, Quality, Provider Networks, to ensure optimal program outcomes. Provides program oversight, integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements and health plan delegation contracts. Demonstrate program leadership including staff development (indirect reports) and development of operating models that support overall program management.
This position also designs and develops pharmacy programs in support of the organization’s strategic pharmacy plan. Support population health programs by designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation and technology related to pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and medication intervention programs to achieve high physician network performance and optimize pharmaceuticals. Apply knowledge of managed care trends, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, reimbursement models and formulary and utilization management strategies to analyze medical and pharmacy claims data to identify opportunities in a value-based care model. Evaluate medication usage trends in both pharmacy benefit (e.g. Part D) and medical benefit (e.g. Part B), to assess clinical appropriateness and costs. Use detailed research and analysis to develop recommendations to pharmacy leadership, applying expert knowledge of the medication process, from ordering to administration to insurance payment. Serve as a clinical applications coordinator for Pharmacy Services.
