Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR CIN) seeks to hire a Senior Lean Six Sigma - Performance Improvement Specialist to work Full Time supporting the Quality department.

 

Please note: Southwestern Health Resources Clinically Integrated Network (SWHR CIN) is an affiliated company of Texas Health and UT Southwestern.  If hired for this position, you will become a SWHR CIN employee rather than a Texas Health or UT Southwestern employee.

 

The address is 8150 Brookriver Drive, Dallas, Texas 75247 located at the SWHR Corporate Office.

 

Salary range is Min $37.60 - Max $56.43 – based on relevant experience

 
 

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

 

Job Description

 

Works under minimal supervision to perform complex duties related to performance improvement (PI) functions.

 
Essential Functions:
 

Lead multiple multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental projects with a regulatory component to address performance improvement initiatives in the out-patient setting.
Supervise junior colleagues and delegate tasks in accordance with their skill set.
Ability to meet changing conditions, manage multiple projects at various stages of development, and utilize critical thinking skills to analyze and interpret data.
Interpret & explain data to service line leadership teams, make recommendations & support strategies for improving clinical processes & patient outcomes, consulting with internal content experts.
Define project scope, aims, deliverables, and timelines for Ambulatory Quality and Outcomes in collaboration with key stakeholders and senior management; develop full-scale feasibility (including resources) and charter documents with associated communication documents; communicate effectively the project plans at the Quality Counsel Committee (QCC) for approval; communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Lead and coordinate all project related activities between the AQOPI office, Data Analytics, Information Resources, Clinical Operations and the customer. Communicate to senior leadership any resource needs and identifying any barriers to project implementation.
Manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, with input from senior leadership when necessary.
Generate and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate project management tools; track milestones and deliverables identified in charter; create and disseminate progress reports and required documentation for any regulatory purposes; identify frequency and content of status reports.
Analyze data and results to determine areas for improvement through the project implementation and during the maintenance period; utilize analytic tools necessary to delineate accurate results and drilldown.
Prepares reports and analysis of clinical outcomes data in order to identify opportunities for clinical process improvement initiatives.
Implements continuous performance improvement using Six Sigma or Lean methodology, based on the needs of the project.
Prepares written and oral presentations for a variety of internal and external audiences.
Assist Manager and Director with collaboration with Program Directors and Managers to assess performance monitoring and implement improvement plans, and to ensure accountability, feedback loops and monitoring systems.
Prepares summary of results in appropriate format to report to management and Quality Committees.
Monitors Quality Improvement trends in healthcare industry and suggests program changes or enhancements as appropriate.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of continuous quality improvement definitions and techniques, and develops basic clinical understanding of their allocated service lines.
Performs other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

 

Education
Bachelor's Degree In a related field Required
Master's Degree Preferred

Experience
5 years’ experience in Healthcare Delivery, to include at least 4 years in Quality Improvement / Performance Improvement as a primary role, with Bachelor's Degree, Required

OR
5 years’ experience in Healthcare Delivery, to include at least 3 years in Quality Improvement / Performance Improvement as a primary role, with Master's Degree, Required

Background in Industrial and/or Systems Engineering (Strongly preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
SSGBC - Six Sigma Green Belt Certification upon hire Preferred or within 6 months of hire Required OR
SSLP - Six Sigma Lean Professional upon hire Preferred or within 6 months of hire Required OR
PMP - Project Management Professional Certification upon hire Preferred or within 6 months of hire Required

 

Skills
Work requires good organizational skills.
Work requires excellent written communications skills.
Work requires demonstrated ability and skills with project management and quality improvement tools, such as Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, Sharepoint, or Qeystone.
Work requires strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Work requires demonstrated ability and skills with quality improvement methodology, such as Six Sigma or Lean.
Work requires ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines, as well as time management.
