Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Data Insight and Innovation Officer, the Vice President of Analytics Officer enhances SWHR's ability to serve as a national leader harnessing data to improve healthcare value.  This role supports the SWHR goal of being a cutting-edge data-driven healthcare organization, moving from retrospective reporting to predictive analytics, ensuring that data is insightful and actionable in support of effective population health management.  This position partners with SVP in the development of a diverse team of analytics professionals to ensure effective alignment of data science and analytics products to meet the organization's needs.  

The VP Analytics Officer has oversight to develop a high performance, responsive team of analysts and data scientists to accelerate business processes throughout the organization, and will blend new capabilities into a existing, robust reporting group. Position will manage and develop high-performing teams driving positive outcomes while balancing competing interests in a uniquely complex, fast-paced environment.

The VP Analytics Officer manages a diverse set of analytics needs including enterprise KPI reporting and predictive analytics to discover strategic clinical and operational insights that guide data-driven decision making within SWHR.

  • Master’s Degree from accredited college in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or similar quantitatively intense discipline required.
  • Ph. D. from accredited college in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or similar quantitatively intense discipline preferred.
  • 10 years’ experience in data modeling and analytics of which five or more years are in the healthcare industry. A strong record of integrating cross-functional data to drive innovation in the delivery of healthcare value, product and service development required.
  • 10 years’ demonstrated expertise and recent experience with SQL, Python, C++, etc. as well as modeling engines such as SAS, Matlab, Mathematica, RapidMiner, Stata, R, etc. required.
  • 8 years’ demonstrated experience in production big data mining, deep learning algorithms and machine learning environments.
  • 5 years’ demonstrated experience with data visualization platforms (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.).
  • Recent first- and second-author peer-reviewed relevant journal publication history.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative mindset; highly analytical with the ability to integrate efforts to achieve goals; high level complex problem solving skills and ability to foster an environment of shared accountability and individual career development.
