Essential Functions:

  • Leads SWHR’s data science and analytics to develop, enhances and effectively leverage new and existing data analysis platforms to optimize data-driven program management. Interfaces with operational transformation groups to develop actionable reporting for both the physician network and SWHR CIN operations
  • Develops and reports organizational KPIs and other performance metrics, including mandated quality reporting for all payers and for the employed physician group
  • Drives and develops best-practice that leverages data science, data engineering, machine learning and analytic techniques that offer actionable insights. Effectively communicates complex modeling and analysis concepts to high-level organizational leadership.
  • The Chief Officer, Data & Value Creation will also play a highly collaborative role whichwill interact with stakeholders, departmental heads and leadership, as well as other executives. These collaborations will be a determinant of the efficiency in application of data analytics across the business and with parent organizations.
  • Proactively engages business stakeholders, seeking and acting on opportunities for improved use of information to solve business problems. Turn operational challenges into research questions, pursue and guide a best-practice approach that generates qualitative and quantitative insights that empower decision making.
  • Assists with development and implementation of strategies to support ongoing data management needs, such as governance, technology shifts, and regulatory compliance changes.

LEADERSHIP:

  • Provides the Data and Analytics department with vision for business-wide data activities and champions for data ownership, strategy, accessibility, and governance. The Chief Officer, Data & Value Creation is tasked with availing an environment that makes data and information accessible to all functions and stakeholders across the business.
  • Motivates and values staff around performance excellence, professional development, and participation in meetings and committees.
  • Hires, trains, and develops high performing staff to deliver high quality work and effective service to internal and external customers

FINANCIAL OPERATIONS:

  • Responsible for developing return on investment analyses within the modeling put forth to advance the business operations and improvement opportunities across the functions of SWHR population health.  Understands financial implications, working closely with executive leaders.
  • Responsible for establishing budget and meeting budgetary expectations. 
  • Reviews current project measurements and compares to the national metrics, and identifies gaps in order to improve the process and provide finance and quality departments with project performance to measure revenue and costs figures to develop budgets and measure program effectiveness.

  • Master’s Degree from accredited college in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or similar quantitatively intense discipline required.
  • Ph. D. from accredited college in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or similar quantitatively intense discipline preferred.
  • 12+ years’ Experience in data modeling and analytics in the healthcare industry. A strong record of integrating cross-functional data to drive innovation in the delivery of healthcare value, product and service development required.
  • 12+ years’ demonstrated expertise with data warehouse and BI/web analytics and EHR/EMR data required.
  • 12+ years’ demonstrated experience in production big data mining, deep learning algorithms and machine learning environments required.
  • 10+ years’ demonstrated experience with data visualization platforms (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) required.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative mindset; highly analytical with the ability to integrate efforts to achieve goals; high level complex problem solving skills and ability to foster an environment of shared accountability and individual career development.
