RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The VP Data Science
& Analytics Officer has the following duties and responsibilities:
- Develops, enhances
and effectively leverages new and existing data analysis platforms to
optimize data-driven program management.
- Interfaces with
operational transformation groups to develop actionable reporting for both
the physician network and SWHR CIN operations.
- Develops and
reports organizational KPIs and other performance metrics, including
mandated quality reporting for all payers and for the employed physician
groups.
- Drives and
develops best-practice that leverages data science, data engineering,
machine learning and other analytics techniques that offer actionable
insights.
- Effectively
communicates complex modeling and analysis concepts to high-level
organizational leadership.
- Proactively
engages business stakeholders, seeking and acting on opportunities for improved
use of information to solve business problems.
- Turn
operational challenges into research questions, pursue and guide a
best-practice approach that generates qualitative and quantitative
insights that empower decision making.
- Assists with development and implementation of strategies to support ongoing data management needs, such as governance, technology shifts, and regulatory compliance changes.

Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science,
Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics or similar quantitatively intense
discipline required.
- Doctoral Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics or similar quantitatively intense discipline preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in data
modeling and analytics of which five or more years are in the healthcare
industry. A strong record of integrating cross-functional data to drive
innovation in the delivery of healthcare value, product and service
development.
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated expertise and recent
experience with SQL, Python, C++, etc. as well as modeling engines such as
SAS, Matlab, Mathematica, RapidMiner, Stata, R, etc.
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated management growth and
experience in complex matrixed organizations, leading and mentoring
diverse, high-performing analytics and development teams.
- Minimum 8 years demonstrated experience in production big
data mining, deep learning algorithms and machine learning environments.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with data
visualization platforms (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.).
- Recent first- and second-author peer-reviewed relevant
journal publication history.
- Excellent leadership and management skills; strong
communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative mindset; highly
analytical with the ability to integrate efforts to achieve goals; high
level complex problem-solving skills and ability to foster an environment
of shared accountability and individual career development.
